Camp Reinstates Sailing Program

Thanks to a $1,000 grant from The Children’s Guild, Camp Ho Mita Koda has reinstated its sailing program. Junior counselor and camp alum, Jack Pitfield, spearheaded this effort and has outfitted four sea snarks with new equipment, including sails, masts, rudders, gudgeons, cleats, and line. Jack also conceived of and built a new boat rack to more efficiently store the sailboats.

Under Jack’s guidance, campers are learning the basics of sailing and, hopefully, are becoming interested in sailing as a hobby to carry this interest to their lives away from camp!
