Camp Ho Mita Koda Receives Major Gift from INTEC
CLEVELAND - Thanks to Todd Lewis, father of camper Tyler Lewis, Camp Ho Mita Koda (a summer camp for children with diabetes) recently received a $20,081 donation from Indianapolis-based INTEC and Co., Inc., a national group of technology and imaging supplies dealers. Lewis, president of Twinsburg-based computer supply company, Systems Supply, is a member of INTEC, and spoke of Tyler’s diagnosis with type 1 diabetes to his business peers at INTEC’s annual meeting this spring.
Following Lewis’ plea, INTEC members and vendors participating in the annual show donated $20,081 for Camp Ho Mita Koda. The donations came via a golf tournament, raffle, and donations by members and vendors.
"Todd’s speech at breakfast on Thursday - officially opening our two-day show - drew complete silence," according to Dennis Hardy, president of INTEC. "This is a close-knit group; these are men and women who come to this show year-in and year-out, and they were deeply touched by an issue that befell one of its family members."
In addition to the 34 INTEC member companies nationwide (listed below), Camp Ho Mita Koda extends its heartfelt thanks to the following companies for contributing to the cause:
Plans are in the works for programs that INTEC’s contribution will fund. Camp Ho Mita Koda is a non-profit organization that has served children with diabetes since 1929. The Camp is situated on 75 beautiful wooded acres in Newbury, Ohio (25 miles east of Cleveland) and offers swimming, tennis, boating, fishing, hiking, archery, arts and crafts, ropes courses, and more. Each summer, more than 300 children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes attend Camp Ho Mita Koda’s residential camp program, Bicycle Adventure, and mini camps.
