Backpack Bivouac XVII: A Night of Tropical Fun Benefits Camp
Camp Ho Mita Koda’s 17th annual benefit, Backpack Bivouac, was held September 6, 2008 and raised $42,250 (net) for the camp’s programs and facilities. The theme of this year’s fundraiser was “Set Sail for the Tropics.”
Set among tropical beach décor around camp on a perfect late summer evening, more than 300 guests swayed to the sounds of Jimmy Buffet-style music while dining on gourmet fare by A Taste of Excellence in the camp’s cabins. The popular silent and live auctions featured hundreds of fabulous items. Tom Beres of WKYC-TV and Melissa Mack of Fox 8 served as honorary co-chairs of the evening. Many thanks to event chair Tricia Vance, auction co-chairs Kendra Hostetler-King and Laura Crotty, and the event planning committee members.
Working on Backpack Bivouac is a fun and rewarding experience. If you’re interested in serving on the planning committee for Backpack Bivouac XVIII, please email camp@dagc.org or call (216) 591-0800.
